This is a low impact plan maximising the use of existing infrastructure. There is support from the business community to support the airport's future as many have benefitted from the airport's supply chains, from tourism and hospitality, from the manufacturing and engineering supply chains, food and beverage and many have seen growth due to the opportunities and connectivity the airport brings. Many of the hundreds of manufacturing, engineering, aviation, pharmaceutical and bio life science businesses in the area have strong links with the airport. It allows businesses to connect with the global world, gives access to suppliers and consumers, facilitates inward investment and enables higher levels of trade. This helps boost productivity leading to growth. Gatwick airport has generated economic growth for the region. The new plans offer global connections, jobs and skills growth and a significant economic boost to the area which will support the economy and increase resilience and job prosperity. The will strengthen the diversity of the area and success of the region.
