Planes travelling to and from Gatwick Airport already contribute excessive pollution to our environment both in terms of green house gas emissions and noise. Doubling traffic volumes would further destroy our environment and cause more congestion in the area - the road and train connectivity to the airport would not suffice. Heathrow Airport is already being expanded; additional capacity at Gatwick is not required. Yet another example of foreign infrastructure investors trying to maximise their profits at the expense of UK residents. Please stop destroying our environment: take the train.
