  • Airplane Noise from Gatwick is already out of control. - Smaller hub airports should be the priority over the expansion of an airport in the wrong location for the majority of travellers. Surveys of who uses Gatwick needs to be considered and airports built closer to the users to reduce traffic and travel to aid the environment impact. - Gatwick's location is not supported by good road or rail links from the North of the UK. The main M23 is an issue because of its limited exit points and location off the M25. - ANOB areas being affected by noise and pollution by increased traffic miles. - Gatwick's Management/Owners have shown in the last year that they can't manage staffing levels and IT infrastructure well enough at the current size to merit being allowed to run an expanded airport. Heathrow on the other hand clearly demonstrates they have the ability to do so as does Manchester and Birmingham. - Gatwick's attempt at mitigating the noise and environmental impact is suspect and needs proper independent review. - Local employment is already high in the Gatwick catchment area, other areas of the UK need investment to help employment why is this opportunity not being used to better this. - Global Warming targets are being missed, having less planes is one of the solutions. Bigger planes need to fly less often, so why not stop budget airlines flying small planes and force larger planes onto these routes. This would easily free up space without the need for expansion.
