We oppose the proposed expansion of Gatwick in the strongest possible terms. We live 15 miles to the west of LGW, have lived here since 2002, just north of the flight path for runway 08R. With the rapid growth of the low cost carriers in recent years, and subsequent increase in aircraft movements, we are disturbed all through the night when aircraft are arriving on 08R. The noise is especially bad in summertime warm weather when we need to have our windows open. The opening of a second runway to the north of the existing 08R/26L would mean traffic flying directly over our property. The proposed runway expansion is unnecessary and would create excessive pollution through noise and jet exhaust emissions. There can be no justification for any proposal so incredibly damaging to the local environment in this day and age.
