Penshurst is directly under the existing flight path for aircraft just before they join the final approach to land at Gatwick. Over recent years the band width through which aircraft fly as they pass over Penshurst approaching Gatwick has narrowed. The frequency of flights and the associated noise resulting has become more than just a nuisance. Despite protests made by residents in this area for aircraft to adopt a more diverse approach (thereby sharing out the noise amoung other communities) not much has been done by Gatwick or other associated bodies to address this issue. My concern is that Gatwick’s plan to introduce a second runway will compound the noise issues that Penshurst residents (and others under the narrowed flight paths) face every minute of every day. I would like to see some positive action to address the suffering of ‘some’ people on the ground under the flight path, before aircraft movements increase at Gatwick.
