The impact of aircraft noise is already unacceptably high and impairs the quality of life of many people. Another full-time runway would mean that the current level of noise will go from being frequent to more or less constant, which would be totally unacceptable. No direct public transport to access London Gatwick currently exists from Tunbridge Wells or Tonbridge which means that residents have to suffer the noise of flights without the benefits of easy travel facilities to the airport. Thus, Adding another full-time runway would mean additional road traffic noise. At the moment Gatwick airport can hardly cope with the current traveller numbers; adding more capacity would make things much worse.
