The local infrastructure will not be able to cope with the increases in activity caused by the increase in flight numbers. Specifically, the lack of a major east/west road will bring chaos and gridlock to local roads which are already full; the M23 is very busy at times and it can be difficult to feed onto the M25; local housing costs are too high for the low paid jobs that a new runway will bring; the main Brighton line is fully utilised. Noise levels will increase across the whole area. Pollution will increase to unacceptable levels. I am not convinced that GAL would be able to be zero carbon by 2050 underscoring the unacceptability of building another runway in the South East despite HMG declaring that no more are needed.
