Over the 35 years I have lived in the area , I have noticed a considerable increase in traffic on A 23 , frequent delays and hold ups . There is already significant pressure on local transportation increased with the building of massive ‘The Acres ‘ and Westvale Park housing estates. The number of flights over our house already has a significant impact caused by the noise pollution . We have recently installed new double glazed windows but we can still hear aeroplane noise . My local experience of living and working in this area over a significant time has changed because of the traffic and pothole damage to road network near Gatwick . I run a cleaning business , I have to allow staff more time to travel between customers . This impacts on fuel , labour costs and the ability to recruit staff who do not want longer commutes Increasing the number of flights / runway capacity will only make all these problems worse because of pressure on all methods of transport, damage to local roads The damage to the environment at a time when we urgently need to be finding ways to decrease our impact will be immense I am strongly opposed to the proposed runway development
