Gatwick is in dire need of a second runway to allow more connecting flights. For far too many years airlines based at Gatwick have failed, or been taken over by BA, because of the lack of connections. This has resulted in too many job losses with the inevitable effect on the local economy. Gatwick honoured its agreement with Crawley Council to not have a second runway before 2019. It is only right that this application should be approved, without delay, to finally give some stability to all employees at the Airport and to the local economy and to that in the south east in general.
