Feel that our quality of life is negatively impacted already by Gatwick airport and an additional runway would only compound this. We try to ignore the noise from over head planes but this is increasingly difficult especially in the summer months when we have to have our windows open or want to spend time outside. This noise is very disruptive to sleep at night, spending time in the garden, watching television and having conversations in person or in the phone some days. More noise would inevitably devalue properties in our area. The weight of traffic on our local roads and motorways at the moment makes travel extremely cumbersome so an additional runway would undoubtedly worsen this. It is difficult to afford holidays in the current financial climate so not to be able to take advantage of Gatwick airport when the flight noise affects us on a daily basis is a bitter pill to swallow. I am also concerned about the environmental impact of an additional runway and the increase in flights this is likely to bring.
