This is an application for a new runway as Gatwick does not have two active runways that can be operated concurrently. Therefore it is not correct that it complies with policy. There will be an increase in aircraft noise. This last week we have had Wizz Air flying over our house at 2832ft followed by EasyJet 3400ft Thomsons 3962ft. This demonstrates that Gatwick currently does not exercise proper control over CDA. There is little hope with 101000 predicted extra flights increasing to 386000 that proper control will be practiced. There is a lack of affordable housing locally so workers will not be able to walk or cycle to work as proposed. There is a lack of amenities. Low skilled jobs are offered in the airports leisure business producing little job security. Gatwick sits on a single main road the M23. The increased freight, workers and passengers will result in a significant congestion of residential roads and a decline in the air quality. The main train line will be over burdened with over 32 million extra passengers to be accommodated by this line which is incapable of expansion. The new runway would add to the level of carbon and greenhouse gases to an unacceptable and significant level.
