I am very much opposed to bringing the second runway into regular use. The year before covid the noise over our house and regularity of the noise was unacceptable. Especially from about 10pm and until 1am and again early in the morning. I found it was stopping me get to sleep as there were noisy planes overhead every few minutes. This often continued later than I understand they are allowed to operate. I would also get woken around 6am. The use of the second runway would mean more frequent planes and their noise pollution. This is completely unacceptable for residents here. As I understand, following a lengthy public consultation, there will be extra air capacity at Heathrow. Therefore it is not necessary to extend Gatwick as well and there has been no formal consultation.
