The planned additional runway and flights will inevitably cause environmental damage including noise, pollution and damage to the flora and fauna living around the airport. The current infrastructure, particularly roads are not sufficient to cope with the additional demands that will result from increased passenger use of Gatwick. Any projects to develop the infrastructure will damage the environment, will increase CO2 emissions and will go against UK government and global targets
