The fundamental challenge is the balance between economic valuation creation (including but not limited to the UK economy, jobs creation and investors) and what may be profound environmental damage at a time when we have to make choices today consistent with a net zero future. As we begin to look at what a net zero environmental world means and the profound changes in the way we work, live, move around and enjoy our free time, it seems that committing to infrastructure designed to match that of Heathrow is wholly misconceived. I look forward to seeing a case for this project that negates this concern.
