Gatwick airport - rejection to a second runway. Noise, pollution, traffic congestion. There is no room to even expand the railway or motorway. The whole area is loosing it's green space. Gatwick lost out to Heathrow for the inclusion of a new runway, there is no need for expansion with both airports so close together. Most of the reasons for rejection when competing with Heathrow expansion still stand. It is only in Gatwick Airport owners interested to expand. This is a push through the back door before Heathrow expansion has even commenced.
