The proposal at Gatwick airport will see a huge increase in the number of planes flying over the area of Hever and surrounding neighbourhoods. This will not only increase the environmental pollution of the area as the planes burn fuel but will also significantly increase the noise pollution which will have a negative impact on the community and its wildlife. As an area of AONB, conservation this proposed increase will conflict the underpinning protections that these statuses should automatically be granted. In a world where climate change and the future of our planet is under threat we need to be supporting sustainable tourism and travel and therefore I cannot support a proposal that fundamentally places our planet at further risk.
