Completely against the expansion. There will be only negative impacts and nothing gained. Living under a flight path is miserable and yet I look out to open countryside from our windows. If it wasn’t for Gatwick there would be no noise except birdsong, it would be an idyllic place to live and work from home. The summers are only getting hotter and yet we can’t have our windows open at night. With ear plugs and windows closed I can still hear the constant planes. There must be a ban on night flights. On many occasions we have to paused the TV and wait until a plane has flown over. We currently rent in this area and we love the open countryside, but I would not feel confident buying a property in the place we love for fear that the noise from planes will only get worse than it already is. There are no benefits to living on Gatwick’s doorstep, we just have to live with the noise of a neighbour that gets paid more money the more noise it makes.
