I fully support the position of the RHRA’s submitted comments (see below) and will add an additional significant concerns which is the obvious negative environmental impact this project will cause on so many levels at a time when we should be doing the reverse. This planet needs our careful attention and therefore this proposed project is simply wrong. We have to find other ways to create jobs and increase financial growth and also consider the future of younger generations and their welfare… “The RHRA Committee and a number of residents have recently noticed that the increased aircraft traffic / noise from Gatwick and Heathrow is clearly getting worse. The RHRA Committee fully respects the perceived requirement for increased travel capacity, the jobs that the expansion would create, and the potential for financial growth in the area. However, the RHRA Committee also feel that it is imperative not to lose sight of some of the issues that the doubling of flight capacity at Gatwick is certainly going to have on our lives: A significant increase in aircraft noise. Increased air pollution. The main network providers infrastructure stress. The road network - the lack of it and the state of the roads. General transport links to the airport. The widespread disruption to the Gatwick locality for the years of project time scale. Gatwick’s failure to function with its current work load.”
