The plans for expansion with the new runway should not be allowed to go ahead. The Committee on Climate Change has said that no expansion in aviation should be allowed if we are to meet our climate targets. The knock on impacts of more passengers and more flights at Gatwick will be huge. The transport infrastructure in the region will be affected, there will be more noise and more air pollution in a part of the country that is already above the air quality limit guidelines. It's not just local people who will be impacted by these plans but the whole country given the extra CO2 emissions and other pollution that this project will cause.
