I oppose the Gatwick application for the northern runway as it a new runway which does not comply with policy It will lead to a huge increase in aircraft noise - currently unacceptable and will only get worse - a constant noise with increase of 101000 flights per year. All evidence shows we are entering into a climate emergency - many people have already suffered with fires, heat, floods - why do we want to increase this risk with more carbon and greenhouse gases Claims that it will provide more employment are doubtful due to the automation of systems and online checkin etc without human contact. Those jobs that are available are mainly low skilled, low paid with little job security. The road network surrounding Gatwick will struggle to manage with the increased traffic caused by the massive increase in number of travellers - again causing pollution from car emissions and small particle pollution from tyre and brake wear.
