In our view it will: 1. Significantly raise the sound pollution, particularly over Lingfield. 2. It will increase air pollution over Lingfield due to the increase in air traffic. 3. It will increase pollution on our roads and rail because of the huge increase in passenger numbers. 4. Journey time in this area will be increased due to increased staff and passenger traffic. 5. It will be significantly detrimental to wildlife in the area and particularly in the environmentally sensitive countryside at the east of the Gatwick perimeter. 6. Other London airports are not working to capacity. 7. When we moved to Lingfield in 2004 flights passed over Lingfield racecourse so there was less pollution in the village. If the project is approved approaches should be rerouted to reduce current pollution levels in the village. 8. There used to be a no overflying for a significant night time. Since the resumption of air traffic post covid air traffic over 24 hours in the village. This reduces the quality of sleep and therefore affects the efficiency of villagers and is detrimental to the education of the children.
