I am opposed to the building of a new runway at Gatwick Airport. The increase in flights and road traffic to the airport will result in: - more green house gas emissions which will worsen global warming and make it harder to reach Net-Zero - more air and noise pollution which will affect the health of local residents The building of a new runway will result in habitat destruction of local flora and fauna. The UK is already one of the most nature depleted nations in the world as stated in the recent State of Nature report. The increase in flights and traffic to the airport would negatively affect the peace and tranquility of the Surrey Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
