I object to a new runway at Gatwick Airport. We are in a climate emergency. The impact of this will: *increase the release of greenhouse gases, which are responsible for the climate emergency we’re facing *create more pressure on the rail and road networks serving the airport, with 76 million more passengers per year adding to a further decline in air quality *undermine the government’s aviation strategy. The proposal is for a new runway – not bringing an existing runway into regular use, as claimed.
