The proposal of a second runway invites the opportunity to exacerbate problems we already have relating to our carbon dependency (as a nation and an individual). Besides the obvious impact on air quality, noise pollution and pressures on existing infrastructure, a commitment to an opportunity to increase the use of carbon heavy transport is both a danger to our population and globe, and politically dumb (of course it could on the surface make economic sense but long term investment would be better suited to a transition to green energy and jobs. Yes it might hurt, but we’ll be better for it). Please do not approve this runway.
