I totally disagree with the new runway going ahead at Gatwick …we live in the flight path our summers are already tainted by the noise bbqs in the summer and outside dinner parties are ruined by the noise not only that but the planes seem to be coming in lower and lower .often the landing gear is dropped and so the noise becomes louder. The other day I watched a plane leave trails in the sky of a black smoke this is not healthy for those of us that live under the path…I thought we were trying to help the environment not increase the number of planes in our skies …I do not want to see plane after plane after plane. My sleep is already interrupted late and night and then early in the morning I cannot have windows open at night as it’s too noisy…I don’t think people are travelling this way as much already flights are disrupted at the airports and this means the flights that do run are full …..isn’t it better to fill seats on planes already flying than to get more flights and run them half empty !!! In a time when inflation is high and cost of living is high people do not want to travel as much ..it therefore seems a crazy idea to use another runway and then of course Gatwick will then decide they need another runway for emergencies and so it goes on ……please please say NO I am Opposing the further runway at Gatwick .
