I oppose what will effectively be a new runway - currently Gatwick do not have two runways they can use concurrently. The Government spent much time and effort in deciding where it would be best to provide an additional runway. The decision was for a third runway at Heathrow - there to be no additional runway at Gatwick. The infrastructure, roads, rail, other services, around Gatwick is simply not sufficient to cope with the extra demands that a second runway will create. The added traffic will result in greater congestion and more pollution. There is no possibility of expansion of the Brighton rail line which serves Gatwick. There is insufficient affordable housing locally for employees to be able to live close enough to walk/cycle to work. The expansion to a two runway airport will increase the air traffic inevitably increasing noise and air pollution.
