The expansion of Gatwick airport will bring more air and noise pollution over the area. Tunbridge Wells is the turning point for the approach to Gatwick when the wind is blowing from the West. This is most days and flight pass over at a relative low level at short intervals, often less than 3 minutes apart, on most days. In addition, it appears that the Tunbridge Wells area is also on the one of the queuing circles for both Gatwick and Heathrow. Apart from the noice and air pollution, this increases the risk of an air accident. Some years ago a TV documentary investigating air traffic over the London - South East area identified Tunbridge Wells as the most likely place where an air collision could occur. An expansion of Gatwick will increase this risk significantly.
