We think this is the last thing the government should be spending tax payer's money on. It is a new runway adding masses of CO2 to the atmosphere. The supporting infrastructure is insufficient for the increase in passenger travel and this is a holiday destination airport so not for essential travel. Let's encourage people to holiday in Britain. The Brighton train from Gatwick was full yesterday, a week day in October, which is an illustration that the service is often, already struggling. We do not want more air freight, fullstop. It is not the case that aviation fuels will be CO2 free nor that planes running on hydrogen are only a few years away. What is this government thinking of!!
