I am very concerned about this proposed increase in size and volume of traffic at Gatwick. The air traffic over our house is already intrusive at busy times and in summer months when windows are open, the low noisy planes wake us up. Gatwick is surrounded by otherwise quiet villages in areas of outstanding natural beauty and this intrusion into that much needed tranquility is most unacceptable. In addition the road and rail network is not sufficient to cope with addition traffic. When the world is needing to cut emissions, why is the government trying to promote more and more air traffic - particularly in the green built juts outside London that should be a quiet retreat for city dwellers as well as local inhabitants.
