Increase in noise, pollution and CO2 According to the authorities we have a climate emergency if this is the case then this proposal should be rejected. The proposed runway is too close to the existing runway although modeling being based on US examples the UK weather patterns produce much less visibility than US examples. Gatwick Airport has proven to be an unreliable employer during the 2008 banking crisis and COVID, when government funding was used to prop the foreign owners up. The airport was quick to fire and slow to re-recruit afterwards. Any negotiations with Gatwick (if in favour of permission) should place a ban on night flying on the table as a bargaining measure to mitigate some of the impact on the surrounding population eg no flying between 12 midnight and 6.00am. The airport has demonstrated no regard or care for the surrounding population in its flight paths and is not interested in the health and quality of life of these individuals.
