I am fully supportive of the additional runway at London Gatwick. It is essential for jobs and for our place internationally in terms of trade and tourism and is long overdue. In the last 30+ years there has been fruitless prevarication about this whilst other airports in near-Europe have expanded greatly to their benefit and our detriment. And for the record, I live 16 miles as the crow flies and my house is under the flight path when flights land from the East; in my 49 years here I have never been troubled by aircraft noise. And aircraft are getting quieter and more eco-friendly all the time.
