Grave concerns regarding the pollution impact on the biodiversity of the AONB of the Ashdown Forest from the significant increase in flights along with the noise pollution which is already being experienced by the Wealden villages of including Danehill and Chelwood Gate. Secondly the submission of this proposal has not gone through the proper planning application process and is being submitted as a stealth application under the guise of an emergency runway being required by Gatwick airport. This is misleading and a totally underhand way to deal with something that impacts Sussex residents so significantly for the future. There should be a transparent process asking for wide scale input and a review of the environmental impacts of such a proposal, allowing for proper debate. This will also make a mockery of any commitments to reducing UK emissions and dealing with the ever critical climate emergency we are facing. Finally the road infrastructure namely the M23 is insufficient to support such a growth in flight traffic as is being proposed.
