My concerns about the expansion of Gatwick airport are with regard to the levels of pollution that will be generated from both the planes and the increased numbers of people travelling to the site, at a time when the environment should be at the top of our list for improvement. The local areas and surrounding regions do not have the infrastructure, roads and space for the increased footfall, number of vehicles and people that the additional runways/travel will incur. I live 25mins away from Gatwick and there are loud planes going over my house day and night and I feel that my quality of life will be significantly affected by increased volumes of traffic in the air (and on the roads). There is no point ringing me to talk to me about it as the planes are so loud I can't hear telephone calls. I object to these plans and I hope you will take this into account.
