Greatly INCREASED NOISE which is inevitable if this Plan goes ahead. We live in an area under the current swathe of incoming traffic where arriving aeroplanes (unnecessarily) descend to between 4500 and 6000 feet ! Gatwick boast that this plan will boost the number of aircraft greatly and there is an intention to add far more night flights!! This is a purely COMMERCIAL PLAN for GATWICK AIRPORT LTD seeking to JUSTIFY ITSELF on National Economic grounds!!! After an extremely long period of National debate and consideration the Davies Commission chose Heathrow as the better option to satisfy the national need to expand air facilities over the south east and this is a desperate effort by Gatwick to appease its shareholders who were expecting a great boost to their dividends had the Davies decision gone the other way! They are not to be blamed for trying but they do so regardless of the mayhem they know their plan will bring to hundreds of thousands of residents in East Sussex and West Kent particularly!! AND the Davies Commission saw no great UK need for a second expansion in the south-east!!! I am no great fan of the Climate Change lobby but have to say that this plan can only make pollution worse over a large area !! There is no real trade off which might meaningfully change this fact and I am sure 90% of those interested in this project would accept this (unless they hold shares in Gatwick of course!!!) Such an increase in passenger numbers as Gatwick expect to see will soon take to the roads to get to and from the airport!! They are not intending to improve the current rail access so the current system would be expected to take the strain!! ABSOLUTE NONSENSE!!! It is not man enough to handle current demands and the Gatwick Express is cancelled so often it is a joke!!!!! So soon much more congested local roads (more pollution??) and delays for those who live in the area as they try and go about their daily life which , funnily enough , does not centre on Gatwick Airport no matter how much GAL's board would like to think it does!!!
