Before any expansion of Gatwick Airport is even considered there needs to be several changes to the way aircraft are always flown down the same corridors when approaching to land. This has been a long running argument with different solutions discussed but none have been effectively implemented. There has also been several statements made by the airport that only 'quiet' planes will be allowed to land in their ever increasing numbers during the night. Never materalised! Even the old problem of fuel flap noise on landing has reappeared recently - this is curable so there can be no excuse for this hideous noise waking us at night.
