I would like to oppose this suggestion for several reasons: - There is already a busy schedule at Gatwick Airport. While leaving not far from the airport we already face disturbance by the airplanes flying 24/7 very frequently causing loud noise and air pollution. - The area we live in has been recently added to the ULEZ zone to decrease air pollution. It is hypocritical to increase the number of airplanes flying through this area as airplanes cause more air pollution than cars. Especially taking into consideration that the Green Belt area will be affected. - Increasing airport traffic will have a negative effect on the adjacent areas and will make a large number of tourist attractions as well as hiking areas undesirable due to the planes' loud noise and air pollution. - The transport network already faces issues with high demand both on the train line and on the M23 motorway. Before airplane traffic through Gatwick Airport is increased, the government should make sure that more trains are running between London and Gatwick as well as take steps to prevent long traffic jams on the M23 motorway. Thank you!
