I absolutely object to the plan to build a Northern Runway at Gatwick Airport and potentially double passenger numbers and add another 100,000 flights. I live in Crowborough which as an elevated town in East Sussex is already subject to noise from arrival of noisy low flying planes every few minutes in busy times of the year, including at night. The flight path is often continuous over our house and neighbourhood, the town and the forest. The roads and rail capacity will never be able to handle this huge increase and there will be increasing gridlock. Targets for zero emissions are unattainable. I know that huge numbers of people in West Kent and East Sussex already suffer this unjustifiable undermining of our quality of life. There is already plenty of airport capacity in the south east without allowing this purely commercial project. It cannot be justified as essential national infrastructure.
