Supportive of this project. To increase runway capacity at LGW at comparatively low cost and disruption makes sense especially when reviewed against the suggested strategy for LHR. Whilst the majority of vehicle access will involve the M25 (and M23) this will be nowhere near as regularly congested and problematic as junctions adjacent to LHR (primarily J12-16). It is true that rail services are not ideal and would need improvement in terms of frequency and accessibility but that is also true for LHR, in both cases unless accessing from central London which most people wouldn’t be doing by choice. For the residents of high population areas namely Kent, south east London and East Sussex LGW is a much better airport location and experience for business and leisure travellers already and this would be further enhanced by the increase in destinations and/ or frequency that the additional runway would afford.
