The impact of the proposed Gatwick expansion will be destructive to the well being of residents around the airport and under the flight path. It will also adversely impact those seeking to travel on the local motorways, roads and trains. The concept of increased capacity is against every tenet of the UK's plan for Net Zero there being little or no progress toward cleaner flying. The increase in employment would exacerbate the local housing shortages. Local workers have adapted well and moved on from Gatwick being the only employer in the area. Gatwick generate many night flights which are so noisy as to disturb sleep and no doubt these would increase in line with the plans.
