The noise is relentless due to low altitudes (that seemingly vary) and funnelling into a narrow flightpath which seem inexplicable due to the many miles I live away from the airport. I suspect some of these issues are caused by a relentless desire to reduce the costs of air travel. Perhaps some measures that would improve resident's quality of life should be considered such as higher altitude flying, newer quieter planes without turbines, and widening of approach paths. If this means passengers incurring the true costs of flying, this is only fair rather than residents subsidising exceptionally cheap air travel. The manner of the expansion via a technicality feels intrinsically unfair bypassing usual controls on planning and completely at odds with environmental policy.
