I am 100% opposed to the expansion of Gatwick airport and in particular to it being allowed to change its emergency runway into a second operational runway. My objections are due to: 1) Resulting increase in noise and air pollution 2) Increased emissions of greenhouse gases - stated fake targets to use green fuel are impossible to achieve due to the enormous land use required to grow bio-fuels and / or solar and wind capacity to generate green hydrogen. 3) Increased traffic and congestion for the planned 10's of millions of extra Gatwick customers 4) Flood risks - I live by the river Mole and know first hand the impact of Gatwick on the flood risk for that river - and that is without this planned expansion 5) I do not accept the demand for these extra flights exists. Business travel is not going to grow with post Covid video conferencing & metaverse collaboration etc and tourism has limits
