I am registering my concerns that the new runway at Gatwick airport would have devastating impacts locally and globally. The expansion plan would: increase the release of greenhouse gases, which are responsible for the climate emergency we’re facing create more pressure on the rail and road networks serving the airport, with 76 million more passengers per year adding to a further decline in air quality. The roads in the south east are already gridlocked with too much traffic and pollution levels are already too high. undermine the government’s aviation strategy. WE ARE IN A CLIMATE EMERGENCY!
