I object to Gatwick's proposal to build a second runway due to the damage it will do to the surrounding areas such a pollution, traffic, noise - both from aircraft and increased road traffic. It is against all our efforts to reduce climate change as more air traffic will increase pollutants. Expansion of Gatwick will also damage the AONB's that surround Gatwick on 3 sides and will ruin the lives of many people by bringing more noise, day and night over their heads. Public transport is bad in the area anyway and there will inevitably be more traffic around Gatwick that will make matters worse for those living around it. It is almost impossible to cycle anywhere around Gatwick now, despite what the airport says as it is so dangerous. More people coming to the area will bring even more pressure on public facilities and housing.
