The proposed expansion of Gatwick Airport is not acceptable for the following reasons: 1. The surrounding area and infrastructure is not sufficient to accommodate the number of people, cars etc involved not only in the construction of the new airport facility, but the passenger access and egress. 2. New low noise aircraft may never materialise and if they do, the increased noise from overhead flights would be unacceptable meanwhile. 3. An increase in tourism should be managed through other airports that exist in less built up areas eg Luton and Stanstead.
