Key issues/impacts are: 1. Noise impact on Langton Green and neighbouring villages. Already a steady stream of planes create an unacceptable noise level on some days. Some flights seem to be at extremely low altitude and are probably breaching regulations. The proposed increase in flights will definitely exacerbate the noise problem. Recently I was in central London and the noise of a constant stream of planes overhead could not be heard. Why? Because there is a significant amount of extraneous noise which does not exist in rural and semi rural environments like Langton 2. Arguments that the development will create jobs and economic growth are misconstrued. How many in Langton Green will obtain jobs they want? What will be the impact on housing and traffic congestion in the area? Infrastructure surrounding Gatwick will not be adequate to address the impacts of Gatwick expansion. There is no suitable rail service from Kent to Gatwick. You have to go via London, There is no east-west link in the south, except via London. Strategically for the nation, expansion of Gatwick to satisfy demand from communities far away does not make sense. Expansion is purely commercially driven by the Gatwick owners, not strategically driven from a UK perspective.
