I wish to register my opposition to the proposed 'second runway' at Gatwick. There are several reasons:- - the noise issues and their effects on the local communities have not been addressed. I would like to see an absolute ceiling on the levels, timings and duration of aircraft noise that is independently monitored with appropriate escalating penalties to deter transgressions. - the overburdening o the infratructure in the local area (traffic, Electricity grid, transport links) In summary I believe we should follow the maxim that 'the polluter pays' The airport is already a large polluter on several metrics, noise expecially, we cannot change that but we can insist that any increased 'pollution' is paid for by them.
