I oppose the proposed project because: 1. It would impose significant additional noise around the airport and under the flight paths. We already experience material noise from Gatwick flights and this project would make the noise nuisance much greater. 2. There is no need for this project. 70% of the flight capacity in the UK is already in the South East of England and allowing this project would only concentrate the capacity further. Gatwick’s overall case does not comply with the Airports National Policy Statement (ANPS) which requires airports (other than Heathrow) that are seeking to expand to demonstrate sufficient need for their proposals, additional to (or different from) the need which would be met by the provision of a Northwest Runway at Heathrow. 3. The project is incompatible with the UK's net zero commitments. The massive increase in traffic would cause considerable additional carbon emissions as would the construction work proposed.
