The expansion of Gatwick airport will have a most significant impact on the my local community and my home in Shipbourne for atleast a generation. The environmental impact, particularly of aircraft noise, will have serious health implications due to sleep deprivation. Furthermore there will be no economic benefits for the local community unlike near the Airport. Indeed residents in Shipbourne will suffer losses due to the most likely reduction in house prices due to the reduction in the area's tranquility and consequent fall in demand for homes. The expansion of Gatwick Airport runs counter to the Government's policy on aircraft noice.
