I wish to oppose the planned project on the following grounds:- 1. Extra air traffic will increase carbon emissions which will have a direct effect on pollution and hence drive climate change. We need to reduce carbon emissions NOT increase them if we are going to prevent further detrimental climate change! 2. The number of flights will obviously increase (see above) this will also have a direct effect on residents in the area. There are already increasing numbers of flights during evenings particularly at weekends. These extra flights affect the quality of life due to increased noise and particularly they have negative impact on sleep patterns, making life miserable for those affected and be detrimental to their health! 3. Increased air traffic will also increase the number people using the airport. The effect of increasing passenger numbers will have a direct effect on the number of journeys to and from the airport and hence increase carbon emissions and thus directly affect climate change (as in No 1)
