I object to this application by Gatwick Airport for a second runway. We already suffer with unreasonable aircraft noise and disturbance and a second runway would increase this significantly. It is claimed that it will create a large number of new jobs but these will be low paid low skill jobs and Gatwick has never delivered the number of jobs it claimed it would create for previous developments so there is no precedent to show that the figure claimed is realistic. Roads in the area, A264, A29, A24, A23 are all busy and often congested and a second runway with increased passengers will make this worse. Similarly, there is little prospect of increasing passenger capacity on the London/Brighton rail line. Finally, it is ridiculous to facilitate expansion of a business that already pollutes and contributes to climate change through CO2 and other greenhouse gases on a vast scale.
